
E-Commerce System Designed to Enhance the Market Competitiveness of Manufacturing Enterprises

A training provided on the newly developed E-commerce system aimed at making small and medium manufacturing enterprises more competitive.

Dr. Alebachew Nigussie, Director General of the Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED), who attended the training, stated that the newly introduced e-commerce system will significantly improve the market accessibility of small and medium enterprises.
Dr. Alebachew explained that the e-commerce platform will usher in a new era by creating broader domestic and international market linkages. He emphasized that the system is secure, user-friendly, and must be developed with careful attention to ensure it is a reliable tool for commerce.

The Director General also mentioned that EED is committed to continuing its previous support to ensure that high-quality products from manufacturing enterprises are presented through this electronic commerce system. Furthermore, efforts will continue in collaboration with various stakeholders.

The e-commerce platform was developed by C-SM Africom, a consulting firm, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Postal Service, under the Small and Medium Enterprise Finance Project.
The Ethiopian Postal Service will be responsible for delivering products to end users.
The training is being provided to professionals as well as small and medium manufacturing enterprises, and it has been indicated that the platform is finalized and will be operational in the near future.
