Forum Reviews FY 2018 Performance and Sets Strategic Baseline for Next Year’s Plan
EED and Regional Bureau Leaders Gather to Evaluate the Small and Medium Manufacturing Enterprise Sector
EED — Sene 20, 2018 (E.C.) — Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) has conducted a comprehensive review forum dedicated to evaluating the fiscal year 2018 plan execution of the Small and Medium Manufacturing Enterprise (SMME) sector and charting the baseline strategy for the upcoming fiscal year.

Delivering the opening address, Deputy Director General of EED, Mr. Paulos Berga, stated that the primary objective of the forum was to critically assess the strengths registered and the structural bottlenecks encountered across the sector during the concluding budget year.

Mr. Paulos emphasized that by identifying operational and systemic challenges faced on the ground, stakeholders can collaboratively devise mitigation strategies. This process, he noted, is vital for informing key institutional decisions required to successfully realize national economic development targets.

During the session, a detailed performance report for the fiscal year was tabled, sparking extensive deliberations among participants. Attendees also engaged in deep consultations regarding next year’s projected national deliverables, institutional targets, and new policy directives.

The evaluation forum brought together EED management board members, heads of regional sector bureaus, strategic planning experts, and coordinators of the Rural Industrialization Initiative.
