“Capacity-Building Training for Sector Experts Concludes — Enabling Manufacturing Enterprises to Provide Knowledge-Based Support”
Adama, Ethiopia – August 7, 2025 – The Small and Medium Enterprise Finance Project, Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) in collaboration with the Consulconsultancy has successfully concluded an intensive 11-day capacity-building training for federal and regional experts as well as key stakeholders supporting small and medium manufacturing enterprises.
The training aimed to equip participants with practical, knowledge-driven tools to enhance support for manufacturing enterprises in areas such as technology, finance, market access, and leadership.
In his closing address, Mr. Paulos Berga, Deputy Director General of EED, underscored the importance of coordinated, structured, and practical stakeholder support to accelerate the growth and competitiveness of manufacturing SMEs.
He noted that lessons drawn from international experiences prove that well-organized assistance enables enterprises to expand their role in Ethiopia’s economic transformation.
“This training is not just about knowledge transfer — it’s about empowering experts to deliver targeted, impactful support that strengthens enterprise competitiveness and sustainability,” Mr. Paulos stated.
Participants reported that the program broadened their understanding of how to deliver effective sector support, moving beyond discussions to practical strategies.
Key training modules included Business Plan Preparation, Value Chain Development, Access-to-Finance Partnerships, Business Development Skills, Strategic Partnerships, Institutional Coordination among Stakeholders.
At the closing ceremony, EED reaffirmed its commitment to working in close partnership with stakeholders to provide organized and impactful support to manufacturing enterprises nationwide.
Certificates of completion were awarded to all participants.
