“EED Aims to Build on Last Year’s Achievements and Boost Enterprise Support in New Budget Year”

The leadership and staff of Ethiopian Enterprise Development are holding discussions on sectoral work, institutional branding and implementation, as well as on public service and administrative reforms.
Opening the discussion, the Director General of EED, Dr. Alebachew Nigussie stated that in the 2017 budget year, the institution achieved better performance in internal operations, accessibility, and collaboration with regional states and stakeholders, earning recognition from the Ministry of Industry.
He emphasized that the success achieved was the result of collective effort from both leadership and staff, and that it would serve as a strong foundation for future activities.
He also mentioned that during the 2017 budget year, the institution launched a Rural Industrialization Initiative, in line with its mission, and through cooperation with regional states and partner institutions, succeeded in establishing new enterprises under this initiative.
Furthermore, he highlighted that in the past budget year, the institution supported enterprises to participate in the Ethiopia Tamirt Expo as well as various national and international trade fairs, enabling them to benefit from market linkages and knowledge exchange.
He concluded by saying that the results registered in the sector should be improved in the upcoming budget year, and that supporting enterprises to ensure they gain benefits should remain a priority.
During the forum, documents were also presented and discussions were held on institutional branding and implementation, as well as on public service and administrative reform.
