EED – Nehase 8, 2017 E.C.

Ethiopian Enterprise Development has stated that strengthening coordinated efforts is necessary to sustain the achievements made in the small and medium manufacturing enterprise sector.

This was stated during a discussion held by the leadership and staff of the institution, during which the Director General, Dr. Alebachew Nuguse, signed the 2018 E.C. performance agreement with Vice Director General sector and CEO and Office Head.

In his address, the Director General noted that through strong institutional and coordinated activities to support the country’s industrialization drive, the institution was able to achieve outstanding performance in 2017 E.C., becoming a leading performer in the sector.

He emphasized that this success did not happen overnight but was the result of institutional and national reforms in recent years, the dedication of diligent staff, and strong collaboration with regional states and stakeholders.

On the occasion, the Deputy Director General, Mr. Pawlos Berga, stated that in order for the industry to drive economic transformation and make Ethiopia’s prosperity a reality, the government has prepared a country-wide economic reform plan.

He further explained that the institution has played its part in meeting reform goals by establishing, supporting, and strengthening manufacturing enterprises, thereby expanding the industrial base. The institution will continue to sustain the results achieved through strengthened collaboration with stakeholders, fully committed to the journey toward further successes.

The institution’s staff, for their part, expressed their determination to take the achievements gained as a starting point, raise productivity, expand and strengthen enterprises, and make the sector the backbone of the country’s economy.

Finally, Dr. Alebachew instructed all leadership and staff not to be complacent with the current results but to work harder to achieve even greater success in the future.
