Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) held a consultative discussion with leaders from the Amhara Regional State Bureau of Labor and Skills on strategies to strengthen the development of small manufacturing enterprises in the region.

Speaking at the forum, the Director General of EED, Dr. Alebachew Nigussie, emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to enhance the contribution of the manufacturing sector to job creation and national economic growth. He noted that strengthening collaboration among stakeholders is essential to accelerate enterprise development and improve the sector’s impact on the country’s economy.

Dr. Alebachew also highlighted that, following the recent reorganization of executive bodies in the Amhara Region, the responsibility for leading small manufacturing enterprise development has been entrusted to the Bureau of Labor and Skills. The Director General further stressed the importance of strengthening existing small manufacturing enterprises in the region while supporting the establishment of new ones to expand employment opportunities and contribute to poverty reduction.

During the forum, the Deputy Director General of EED, Mr. Abdulfeta Yusuf, delivered a presentation outlining the institution’s organizational structure, powers, and responsibilities as stipulated under Council of Ministers Regulation No. 526/2015 E.C.
