Ethiopian Enterprise Development Concludes Six-Month Performance Review of the 2018 Fiscal Year

EED, Arba Minch, January 23, 2026

The Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) has successfully concluded its six-month performance review of the 2018 Fiscal Year plan, conducted with regional sector executives in Arba Minch City.

Delivering the closing remarks at the forum, Mr. Abdulfeta Yesuf, Deputy Director General of Ethiopian Enterprise Development, emphasized the importance of encouraging manufacturing enterprises to utilize locally developed e-commerce platforms to address market access and input supply challenges.

Mr. Abdulfeta further highlighted that, beyond creating additional sources of income in rural areas alongside the agricultural economy, it is essential to introduce manufacturing technologies through the Rural Industrialization Initiative. He stressed that when revising and implementing plans, lessons from developed countries should be considered, noting that sustainable prosperity can be achieved through approaches that promote progress “by creating, accelerating, and in some cases leapfrogging” development stages.

Participants of the forum, on their part, underlined that rural industrialization plays a significant role in improving citizens’ livelihoods. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening focus and collaboration to achieve improved performance in the coming periods.

The forum also called for the continued strengthening of capacity-building initiatives led by Ethiopian Enterprise Development.

At the conclusion of the event, responses were provided to questions and feedback raised by participants.
