
Ethiopian Enterprise Development Conducts Six-Month Performance Review in Arba Minch

The Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) conducted a review of the six-month performance of its priority activities for the 2018 Fiscal Year with regional sector executives and key stakeholders, in Arba Minch City.

Speaking at the opening of the review forum, Deputy Director General of EED, Mr. Abdulfeta Yesuf, stated that the manufacturing sector is among the key national priority areas receiving special attention during the 2018 Fiscal Year. He noted that the ongoing efforts to advance the manufacturing industry to a higher level are delivering encouraging results.

Mr. Abdulfeta explained that the sector’s plans are being implemented by institutions at all levels and emphasized that challenges encountered during implementation are being addressed through the Ethiopia Tamirt Platform, resulting in improved and measurable performance outcomes.
He further highlighted that a Rural Industrialization Initiative Implementation Manual has been developed and put into practice to expand manufacturing enterprises beyond urban centers into rural areas. The initiative aims to create employment opportunities and address local unemployment challenges across rural communities.

Concluding his remarks, Mr. Abdulfeta emphasized that by sustaining achievements, addressing areas requiring improvement through detailed discussions, and setting clear future priority directions, Ethiopian Enterprise Development is committed to strengthening the manufacturing industry and positioning it at a more advanced and sustainable level.
