An Official Launch Program for a Capacity-Building Initiative to Support Small and Medium-Sized Manufacturing Enterprises and Experts Affected by Conflict Was Held

Ethiopian Enterprise Development held an official launching program for a capacity-building initiative aimed at rehabilitating and supporting small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises and experts affected by conflict across five cities in the Amhara Region.

Opening the forum, Mr. Girmaw Ferede, Head of the Director General’s Office at EED, stated that beyond mentally/psychologically preparing small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises and sector experts, the program encompasses activities that will enable them to sustainably return to full production and service delivery.

He recalled that a psychological stimulation program was previously conducted to help conflict-affected small and medium manufacturing enterprises and industry professionals regain their former work spirit and motivation.

Implemented with financial and technical support from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and partner organizations, this capacity-building program will benefit 75 small and medium manufacturing enterprises as well as 25 experts located in Dessie, Kombolcha, Bahir Dar, Gondar, and Debre Berhan.

Officials from Ethiopian Enterprise Development, the Amhara Region Industry and Investment Bureau, the Job Creation and Skills Bureau, and the five target cities where the program is being implemented attended the official launching event.
