EED Staff Join National Campaign to Plant 700 Million Seedlings in One Day
Addis Ababa – July 31, 2025
Management and employees of the Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) have taken part in the nationwide Green Legacy campaign, which set out to plant 700 million tree seedlings in a single day under the theme “Renewal Through Planting.”
The EED team joined the campaign by planting trees at Kilinto Industrial Park, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

According to Mr. Girmaw Ferede, Office Head at EED, participating in this national initiative was a proud moment for the organization. He highlighted the value of tree planting for food security, climate change mitigation, and ecological resilience, noting that the seedlings selected were chosen for their environmental and nutritional benefits.

Mr. Girmaw also emphasized that the organization will continue its involvement in the Green Legacy program, committing to ensuring the follow-up and care of the planted trees so they can thrive.

The Green Legacy campaign, initiated by the Ethiopian government, aims to restore degraded landscapes, improve biodiversity, and contribute to global climate goals. EED’s participation is part of a broader national effort involving government institutions, private organizations, and citizens across the country.
