Ethiopia Enterprise Development to Implement Paperless Office System

EED | April 15, 2026

Ethiopia Enterprise Development (EED) has announced plans to implement a Paperless Office System and has commenced training programs for its management team and staff to support the transition.

Speaking during the training session, Chief Executive Officer Kelali W/Gebriel stated that digitalizing institutional processes is one of the key reforms currently being carried out at the national level.

He explained that the institution has undertaken a range of preparatory activities to introduce the paperless working system and has already launched efforts to digitize the Government Document and Letter Management System. He added that the current training was organized to accelerate the system’s practical implementation.

The digital systems to be introduced include Document Management System (DMS), Visitor Management System (VMS) and e-Fleet Management System.

The CEO further noted that the digital GDOP system will significantly reduce paper dependency, improve service efficiency, and enable the institution to serve more clients within a shorter period of time while ensuring greater transparency and accountability.

From a security stand point, the system incorporates a digital signature, allowing any unauthorized alterations made to official documents to be easily identified, thereby enhancing trust and safeguarding institutional records.

As part of the implementation process, practical training is being delivered to senior executives, managers, desk officers, drivers, secretaries, and records office professionals across the institution.
